Visit to Athens

Last weekend, we spent the weekend at Lake Thurmond at Ryan's parent's house. It was a nice, relaxing weekend. So relaxing apparently that I never even took out my camera! But we had a wonderful time visiting with Mimi and Papa.  On our way back home, we stopped in Athens for lunch at Peppino's. We decided to go onto campus and walk around a little. We showed Kendall the stadium, Tate Center, and the bookstore. We also went by the PJ auditorium where Ryan and I had a class together when we first met. We told Kendall some stories as we walked around. I can't wait to drive her crazy one day telling her those stories over and over! Ha. She'll appreciate it one day. I really need to do a whole blog post with blooper pictures of these two. They get fed up with picture taking very quickly! Ha.

The Rock Ranch

My work held a run/bike event at The Rock Ranch in The Rock, GA (who knew that was a real city?). The Rock Ranch is Truett Cathy's personal ranch. It's a beautiful place to visit! In the fall they hold Fall Family Fun Days every Saturday with a ton of fun activities. Abraham and Lauren rode in the 25-mile bike ride while I worked at the run/bike. After that, Kendall and Ryan and my parents came down to hang out. We went on a zipline, hung out with some old friends, rode a train, went into the country store, and more. It was a great time! Lauren and Abraham before the big ride Sisters! Our friends Andy and Connor on the zipline Such a pretty view from the zipline On the train and ready for a nap! Us with little Jack Ward

Messy!

Kendall is learning how to use a spoon. It's messy, but super fun, and she loves it! Although, she did eventually give up and tried to eat directly from the container. Ha. I love this girl!

Happy 14 Months!

Kendall turned 14 months old on Saturday. With it being the day of the big Georgia vs. Missouri game, we couldn't resist taking her "monthly" picture with Uga instead of the usual crew.  I can't believe that I have a toddler. I tell Kendall that she's still Mommy's baby, but indeed she's not a baby anymore! Kendall is doing so much these days. She loves to wave hello and bye bye. She even says "bye-bye" as she waves. She also says "mom" a whole lot. Usually she repeats it over and over, especially when she's being whiny or wants something. "Mom mom mommmm mommmm." Usually a few are really drawn out on the end for emphasis. Haha. She also says "ba ba" for everything. It's her saying when she wants something. She points and says "ba ba". Kendall has become quite a good eater. She's not eating baby food at all anymore. Some of her favorites are cheese, broccoli, green beans, bread, f...

Beach Trip - Day Three

Our last day in St. Simons was another fun one. We went out to the beach early before it got too hot. Kendall really enjoyed playing in her pool under the Georgia tent. She explored the sand a little, but she wasn't really too fond of it.  This feels weird...and my hands are getting dirty! Please stop taking my picture and just pick me up already! Washing the sand off This picture makes me laugh, because they both have that,  "Can this please be the last picture?" look on their faces. Sweet set-up Kendall insisted on sitting on this little window ledge in the condo. The bedroom in the condo had a mirror sliding closet door. Kendall would not move away from it the first day.  She was completely in awe of it!

Beach Trip - Day Two

Our 2nd day in St. Simons was jam packed and lots of fun! We started off the day by going to our favorite breakfast restaurant called Sandcastle. St. Simons has a great little area of shops and restaurants in the "Village". Sandcastle is pretty famous (especially in our extended family) for their breakfast buffet. Talk about some serious food! And whew, is it tasty! Kendall enjoyed herself some french toast, scrambled cheese eggs, blueberry muffin, and fruit. I won't even tell you what all Ryan and I ate. Just take my word for it that it was good.....and fattening! Happy little booger before breakfast After breakfast we walked down to the pier. It's always fun to walk out on because there are fishermen (and women) casting their lines and nets into the water. As we walked out we actually saw one of the women catch a small sting ray. She wasn't very amused about it, but we thought it was cool to see! Hanging out at the pier Yawn! A...

Beach Trip - Day One

We took a vacation to St. Simons this week for Kendall's first trip to the beach! I'm going to split the trip into several blog posts because there's a lot of pictures and a lot I want to share. I want to make sure to remember the details of events like these.  I also don't have time to upload all of the pictures in one sitting, because sure enough, as soon as I sit down to blog, Kendall decides that 40 minutes is plenty for her one nap of the day. (I assure you that it's not enough, and in a few hours she's not going to be a happy camper.) xrrrtgctcwstggtxzxgt4xzz$#x That line was from Kendall. I think it says that she thinks napping is overrated.  So anyways, we left last Monday and drove down to St. Simons. I was nervous about the drive because Kendall is not content at all in the car. She's still facing backwards and she gets bored really quickly. But luckily we left at 1 and she fell asleep within minutes. She stayed asleep all the way ...
