Happy 8 Months!

Kendall Brooke, The past month has been so much fun. You learned how to sit up on your own, which you have absolutely loved. You play with all of your toys so well and are very content now that you can sit on your own. You don't really have much of an interest in crawling yet. Probably because you are able to scoot around and get to where you want to be, just by rolling and moving around like crazy. You learned how to clap this month. All we have to do is mention the word "clap" or say "Yay Kendall!" and you start clapping like crazy. Just recently, you started showing us your mischievous side too. On the changing table you are becoming quite the little roller. I mean, you completely roll over 4 or 5 times while I'm trying to change your diaper and your clothes. So one time, Mommy told you "No" and told you to stay on your back. You stopped and looked at me with a real serious look, like you knew you were in trouble. But then you busted out a hu...

Payback

This is what I found when I went into Kendall's room on Sunday morning. After 12 hours of sleep, my little boo was still conked out...and not interested in waking up. I texted Ryan this picture, and I told him that she didn't seem interested in waking up. His response, "Just like her mama." Yep, I'm going to pay for all of the hard times I gave my mom every morning for 18+ years! And my parents, my college roommate Stella, and Ryan are all laughing under their breath. Because they know that if she's anything like me in the morning, this payback is going to be bad!

Lil' Bit

Ryan and I so often hear from people, "Wow, she's still so little!" And yes, at her most recent doctor's appointment, Kendall was in the 50th percentile for her height, and the 10th percentile for her weight. So she is still little. But looking back at some of her first pictures, we realize just how much she has really grown! Sometimes I can't believe she was ever this tiny.  Two days old - 1st doctor appointment (Look at how Ryan's hand goes all the way from her back to her legs) Resting peacefully on mom at the hospital Coming home from hospital in the same dress that mom,  Aunt Lauren, and cousin Jordan wore home (The car seat and the dress swallowed her!) A few weeks old in her crib. So tiny and so skinny!

My Little Helper...

It's never too early to teach her how to help with laundry. We may still have some work to do. I don't think she's quite grasped it yet. Haha.

The Simplest Things...

Back in January, Kendall started to get SO excited about the most mundane things around the house. When we would pass the thermostat, for instance, she would open her mouth and breathe really hard, with her arm all the way out until she touched it. It was the same thing when we passed a light switch, she just HAD to touch it. The rod on the blinds was no different. Every time we carried her down the stairs, she saw the front door and would get so excited. The new exciting "household item" is the microwave. Any time we are close to it, she wants me to open it so that she can slam the door shut. (Maybe not the best habit to start, but it's cute nonetheless!) The best part about the blind rod is in the video below. She learned quickly that when she let the rod go, it would make a noise. So she started preparing herself for what was to come before she let it go. Hope you enjoy it as much as we do! (Side note: I was holding Kendall and taking the video at the same time, wh...

Happy 7 Months!

My K Bug, Today you turn 7 months old. I can honestly say that I have no idea where the time went. We drove by the hospital where you were born this past weekend, and I was having flashbacks of the day we brought you home. It literally feels like we were bringing you home just a few months ago...definitely not 7 months ago!  Your little sweet and fun personality is really starting to blossom. I can't express how much fun you are at this stage! You laugh at the silliest things, and get excited at  everything ! You love for mommy to open the microwave door and let you try and slam it shut. You love to grab the cord on the blinds and let it fall and make a noise. You love to constantly roll over when you're on your blanket. And I mean constantly roll over. You are such a mover. You love your exersaucer too!  You started eating real foods this month besides just rice cereal. So far, your favorite is homemade pureed bananas. Your appetite has really increased this month wi...
