Maternity Pictures

A co-worker of mine is doing photography on the side. So for my birthday, Ryan gave me a maternity photo session. We went to Lake Lanier to take pictures since being at the lake in the summer really represents me and Ryan. We also went to downtown Alpharetta. We're really excited about how they turned out. Here are a few of the pictures she took.

Nursery

Kendall's room is almost complete! In January, we started the transformation of our guest bedroom into a nursery. It worked out perfectly that my sister was moving into her own place and needed bedroom furniture. So instead of renting a storage unit, we were able to pass everything along to Lauren for her new apartment. It worked out well for all of us! Here are some before and after pictures of the room. We still have some final details to complete, so I'll post more pictures when everything is finished.   BEFORE                                                                        AFTER

Update

Ryan and I went to my doctor's appointment yesterday and everything was great. Actually our doctor said everything looked "perfect". This was so wonderful to hear! She said my stomach measurements are fine. I had definitely grown since my last appointment. I'm right on track with my weight gain, and Kendall's heartbeat was picked up immediately and was in the 150s, which was really good. My blood pressure has been slightly on the high side the past few times, but the doctor said it's not a cause for concern at this point. We would really appreciate your continued prayers for mine and Kendall's health these last 5 weeks (or less if she decides to come a little early which would be completely fine with me!). We really can't wait to meet her, especially as we are checking things off of the to-do list. It's getting closer and closer!

Growing!

As Ryan has tactfully told me lately, Kendall is really growing these days. I'm 34 weeks now, with 6 weeks left until her due date! She's still really active and we can see my stomach moving all over the place now. Last time I went to the doctor, I was measuring a little smaller than "average". So when we go to the doctor on Thursday, they will measure my stomach again to see if they are going to do an ultrasound to check on everything. I think my height is the main reason that I'm measuring small, so hopefully that's the only reason! Here are a few recent pictures of my growing belly.             31 Weeks 32 Weeks 34 Weeks

A Little Practice...

Ryan and I are absolutely loving being an uncle and aunt to our sweet niece, Genevieve. She was born just a few days before we found out that we were having a baby, so it was really neat to meet her in the hospital and see how crazy Ryan is about her. It was proof that he is going to be a wonderful dad (not that I had any doubt). You can tell by the look on his face that Uncle Ryan is absolutely smitten. I have never seen him act the way he does around her. Ryan is learning a lot with Genevieve! He has fed her a bottle, learned how to burp her, and even fed her some solid foods recently. It is great practice for him, and he loves it! We just love our little niece and are so excited for the cousins to meet soon. Baby Showers

This past weekend I had my first baby showers. One was thrown by some wonderful church friends and the other one was thrown by great family friends. They were both so much fun! Kendall got some really cute stuff. Having a girl is already really fun, especially when it comes to all of the cute clothes, blankets, etc.  The first shower was mostly church friends from over the years. It was great to see everyone and catch up on what is going on with everybody. It's so neat to see people that have meant so much to me growing up. Sunday School teachers, choir director, best friends and their moms, youth minister's wife, and the list goes on and on. It was a really fun day. One of the most special gifts was from Ryan's mom who made a sweet blanket. I love it and I know Kendall will too! We also received some great monogrammed gifts that I'm so excited about! Race for the Cure

This past Saturday, all of the Mier/Tabor siblings (minus myself) ran in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure 5K in Atlantic Station. Ryan's sister, Andrea, was walking in it with some of her co-workers, so we decided to make it a family affair, especially since the race was for such a great cause. Ryan & Lauren pre-race I was the cheerleader/photographer for the morning, which was a lot of fun! I stood on the 17th Street bridge as the race started, and then was right at the finish line to yell their names and cheer them on their last few steps. The runners/walkers/stroller riders L to R - brother-in-law Geoff, niece Genevieve, & Ryan's sister Lauren, Ryan, his sister Andrea, brother-in-law Eric, and my sister All of the Tabor siblings + Genevieve There were over 17,000 people that participated in the race! So needless to say, 17th Street was packed as the race was set to begin.  Start of the race 17th Street bridge Ryan was really focused as he spr...
