Round #2

Besides the six weeks of morning sickness that I experienced early on, I've really felt great being pregnant. So far during the 2nd trimester I've felt wonderful and have really had nothing to complain about...well...at least from a pregnancy standpoint. But apparently because I'm pregnant and my immune system isn't quite as strong as normal, I have been hit with some other not-so-fun sicknesses. Last week, I had round #2 of a stomach virus or food poisoning or something. (Round #1 was on New Year's Day. Way to start out the year with a bang!) This kind of thing is never fun...but it's extra miserable when you're pregnant and really NEED to be eating, drinking fluids, and keeping your energy up. I personally think it was food poisoning (the restaurant where I ate shall remain nameless), but others (my mom & Ryan) think that I contracted the stomach flu....again! Whatever it was that I had, it was pretty miserable for several days. So unfortunately, I...

Decisions, decisions...

Well, I warned Ryan that we would start to be more productive after we found out the baby's gender. And it all started in full swing on Saturday! Ryan and I met my mom & dad to look at baby furniture. Seemingly a fairly simple task, however there is so much to choose from that it's quite overwhelming. This was actually the 2nd time Ryan and I had looked at baby furniture. But unfortunately, no final decisions were made. However, we did pick out the bedding and color scheme for her room! We are so excited about it, and can't wait to start on her room. Here is a picture of what we picked out. We're going to paint the room a light beige/brown color, and have a family friend paint polka dots and ladybugs on the walls.   Another big decision we've been thinking about is the name. The most common question over the past week has been, "Do you have a name picked out yet?" Well, the answer to that is no. Ryan and I have a hard time making the decision ab...

"Family" Birthday Weekend

This past weekend we celebrated a few "family" birthdays. The Bachelor family lived next to us growing up, and they are still like family. Allison & Ansley are like mine and Lauren's other sisters. And Allison and I have worked together for over 5 years, which has been really great for both of us. This weekend, we celebrated Allison's 29th birthday on Friday night with dinner at Brio. Love this place! The mushroom ravioli is amazing.  The birthday girl and her hubby, Travis On Sunday, we continued the birthday festivities and celebrated Ansley's little boy's 3rd birthday with a Toy Story party. Riley is one of the sweetest little boys out there, and he had SO much fun opening presents and playing with all of his buddies. We had a great time hanging out and seeing everyone too! Here are a few pictures from the party.                        ...

Sugar & Spice...

Well, today was the big day! Our appointment was at 10:00 am this morning, and I was wide awake at 4:00 am from the anticipation. When we got to our appointment, we met the ultrasound tech, Beverly. She was an older lady who said she had been doing this for over 30 years, since 1979 to be exact. (Ryan made sure to tell her that I wasn't even born then! Ha.) Beverly told us that she had several pictures she needed to take before telling us what we were looking at. It was so amazing to watch her find things like the kidneys, stomach, spinal cord, and other unrecognizable parts (at least to us) that she was labeling with abbreviations. They all just looked like dark blobs. Baby Tabor was all curled up at first, with its back to us. I told Beverly I was going to be SO disappointed if we left without knowing the gender. But then the baby started moving (the green tea I drank on the way to the doctor was kicking in!). But yet again, the baby turned and was on its knees and...

Boy or Girl?

Well....the big day is coming up! In a little over 5 days, we will be finding out whether we are having a boy or a girl. Ryan and I are so excited we can hardly stand it. We've sort of been in "waiting mode" until we find out. We haven't started on the nursery, picked out names (although we have done some narrowing down), or even thought about a registry. I've warned Ryan that after next Monday, things will start picking up a bit! And don't worry...we're not keeping the gender a secret. As soon as we know, we'll be spreading the news. Ryan and I both have a feeling about the gender, and we're actually thinking the same thing. So we'll see if we're right. If anyone has a guess, I'd love to know what you guys think we might be having, just for fun. I'm still feeling great as far as nausea is concerned. I've read that the 2nd trimester is typically the easier of the 3, and that's definitely proving to be right so far. Which...

Five Years

I really can't believe that it was 5 years ago that Ryan and I were married in the UGA Chapel. Time flies when you're having fun! I'm amazed at how much we have learned about each other and how much God has blessed us in these 5 years. February 18, 2006 To celebrate our anniversary, we decided to take a long weekend trip to Asheville, NC. Ryan had never been to the Biltmore House, and I had only been once a long time ago. So we thought it would be fun to explore a new city. We had a great weekend, and it was really nice to get away from work and school for a full 3 days! Several people recommended that we eat at Tupelo Honey Cafe while we were there. So that's what we did on Saturday morning for brunch. They have an amazing Sweet Potato pancake that we shared as an "appetizer". And their goat cheese grits and sweet potato fries were equally amazing. The views from the back of the Biltmore House are incredible! My handsome hubby Almost 18 weeks pregnant...

Baby Bump

Well I'm at that awkward phase in pregnancy where it's difficult to tell whether or not I'm actually pregnant, or whether I'm just gaining weight. Luckily, the majority of people have nice comments for me, but there are those few who like to tell me how my face looks fatter, or that I need to watch how much I'm eating. But oh well...I guess it just comes with being pregnant! These are a few pictures of the progression of the baby bump. We have taken these pictures at night, after work or school, which is probably not the best of ideas because I look fairly worn out in all of them. It's also not really an accurate representation, because I definitely look bigger by the end of the day! 14 Weeks 15 Weeks 16 Weeks
