Sugar & Spice...

Well, today was the big day! Our appointment was at 10:00 am this morning, and I was wide awake at 4:00 am from the anticipation. When we got to our appointment, we met the ultrasound tech, Beverly. She was an older lady who said she had been doing this for over 30 years, since 1979 to be exact. (Ryan made sure to tell her that I wasn't even born then! Ha.)

Beverly told us that she had several pictures she needed to take before telling us what we were looking at. It was so amazing to watch her find things like the kidneys, stomach, spinal cord, and other unrecognizable parts (at least to us) that she was labeling with abbreviations. They all just looked like dark blobs.

Baby Tabor was all curled up at first, with its back to us. I told Beverly I was going to be SO disappointed if we left without knowing the gender. But then the baby started moving (the green tea I drank on the way to the doctor was kicking in!). But yet again, the baby turned and was on its knees and all curled up. I started to get really worried!

Ryan asked Beverly how accurate she was at guessing the gender. She told him that she never tells the gender unless she is 100% sure that she's right. We were relieved to hear that. Then she said, "Oh, but I know what your baby is already. I'm just trying to get a better angle so that you guys can tell too." Ryan's eyes got really big! My heart started pounding. She still waited a few seconds to tell us, and then she turned to us and said, "IT'S A GIRL!" Even though that's what we had both guessed, it still took a few minutes for it to sink in. She then tried to point out the "girl parts" to us, but we still couldn't recognize what we were looking at. We just took her word for it.

I told her how amazed I was that she could pick out all of the different body parts. She turned to us and said, "I always say, there are two things I know - Jesus and ultrasounds!" It was priceless!

Afterwards, we met with our doctor who told us that everything looks perfect! Our baby girl is developing great and is in the 93rd percentile for her size. We are so thrilled that everything looked so wonderful.

My favorite Ryan quote of the morning: "Well, we better start saving up now for a wedding!"

I bought our baby girl her first outfit tonight. I know she'll have her daddy wrapped around her finger in no time!

Happy 3rd Birthday K-Bug!

Kendall had her third birthday party at the splash pad. The rec center has a great room for rent where we held the actual party. Since she's in love with Doc McStuffins, we did the whole party around that theme. She had a good time and looked pretty adorable too!

Halloween 2014

Kendall went back and forth this year on whether she wanted to be her favorite TV character, Doc McStuffins, or a construction worker. The verdict was a construction worker until about two days before the Fall Parade at Weekday. She was such a cute little doctor! We also got to dress her up and go to our new neighborhood to Trick or Treat with friends. We closed on the new house on October 30, so even though we hadn't moved in, we were able to hang out with new neighbors!

Stone Mountain

Today was Kendall's first trip to Stone Mountain. We rode the tram to the top, ate lunch, rode the train around the mountain, and enjoyed the sights. Such a fun day with Grammy and Pops!   The sign of a good day!
