Savannah Weekend

Ryan and I celebrated seven years of marriage on February 18 of this year. We decided that we really, REALLY needed to get away for a weekend without the little one. We had each been away from her twice for work and guys/girls trips, and she had spent the night at my parents house for one night while we stayed at home and got some cleaning and errands done. But we hadn't both spent two nights away from her at the same time and gone out of town for the weekend. So my parents (Grammy and Pops) kept Kendall for the weekend and we headed down to Savannah for a much-needed time away.

Somehow even though I've lived in Georgia my whole life and Ryan has lived here for half of his, neither of us had really spent much time in Savannah. We decided to stay outside of the Historic District so that we could spend more money on food and entertainment, rather than spending it all on a hotel. We had such a great time. We ate at great restaurants, shopped around in fun shops, strolled down River Street, took a trolley tour, visited Forsyth Park, and heard plenty of ghost stories.

Savannah is supposedly one of the most haunted towns in America. Two of the restaurants where we ate are apparently very haunted. Whether we believe it or not, it was fun to hear stories like the one about the old hospital that housed the Navy seamen from WWI. It's about 10 stories tall, extremely scary looking, and completely empty after all of these years because apparently it's so haunted that no one will even step foot above the first floor to renovate it. Apparently they have gone through several contractors who all backed out of the project because of their creepy experiences with the ghosts in the hospital. We heard story after story like this one from our waitresses and trolley driver, which made it even more interesting. There's so much history in Savannah. We will definitely be going back again!

We had a great time together, and even though we missed our little boo, we're so glad we went away and will definitely be doing something like this again sooner rather than later!

Happy 3rd Birthday K-Bug!

Kendall had her third birthday party at the splash pad. The rec center has a great room for rent where we held the actual party. Since she's in love with Doc McStuffins, we did the whole party around that theme. She had a good time and looked pretty adorable too!

Halloween 2014

Kendall went back and forth this year on whether she wanted to be her favorite TV character, Doc McStuffins, or a construction worker. The verdict was a construction worker until about two days before the Fall Parade at Weekday. She was such a cute little doctor! We also got to dress her up and go to our new neighborhood to Trick or Treat with friends. We closed on the new house on October 30, so even though we hadn't moved in, we were able to hang out with new neighbors!

Stone Mountain

Today was Kendall's first trip to Stone Mountain. We rode the tram to the top, ate lunch, rode the train around the mountain, and enjoyed the sights. Such a fun day with Grammy and Pops!   The sign of a good day!
