Visit with Santa

Last Saturday, the 3 of us went to the Foster Care Christmas party for my work. It's an awesome time for the foster kids to get their faces painted, make Christmas crafts, eat lots of good food, and have their picture made with Santa. Ryan and I were the "photographers" for the event, which was a lot of fun. The kids really had a good time. It's so sweet to see their faces light up when they see Santa walk in the room! We also had a special visit from Buddy the Elf, which the kids thought was great! And thanks to the generosity of so many people in Atlanta, each foster parent took home a huge bag filled with toys for each child for Christmas morning. People were so generous!

To top off the festivities, Kendall got her first picture with Santa! From the moment I handed her off, she just stared at him. No smiling, no crying - but lots of furrowed brow goodness (of course!). Towards the end of the picture taking, she reached up to touch his beard. She was wondering what the heck all that hair was on his face.

It was a long afternoon (the party was in Lithonia), but Kendall was such a trooper! She slept the whole way there, hung out for most of the party, and even took a nap on Ms. Frances, one of my co-workers. It was a great time!

Happy 3rd Birthday K-Bug!

Kendall had her third birthday party at the splash pad. The rec center has a great room for rent where we held the actual party. Since she's in love with Doc McStuffins, we did the whole party around that theme. She had a good time and looked pretty adorable too!

Halloween 2014

Kendall went back and forth this year on whether she wanted to be her favorite TV character, Doc McStuffins, or a construction worker. The verdict was a construction worker until about two days before the Fall Parade at Weekday. She was such a cute little doctor! We also got to dress her up and go to our new neighborhood to Trick or Treat with friends. We closed on the new house on October 30, so even though we hadn't moved in, we were able to hang out with new neighbors!

Baby Girl!

We are 5 weeks away from the due date of our 2nd baby girl. I haven't been as good at documenting this pregnancy along the way. Some of that is owed to the fact that it's the 2nd, and some of it is owed to the fact that I just don't keep up with the blog anymore. But I know I'll want to look back on this time and have some documentation, so here goes nothing! This pregnancy has been a harder one than Kendall's. Or either I just forgot most of the hard stuff from the first time around. I was definitely much sicker this time, from 6 weeks until 15 weeks. I was nauseous all day every day, and threw up most days. No medicines would help at all. I was grateful to reach the point where I started to feel better. I wasn't sure that it was actually going to come! We are nervous and excited to meet this sweet baby. Right now, I can't even imagine having enough room in my heart to love another child the way I love Kendall. So I'm really excited to see how the L...
