Two weeks ago, I went to what was supposed to be a simple, routine doctor's appointment. However, I was showing signs of pre-eclampsia - high blood pressure, swelling, etc. My stomach was also still measuring small, and my doctor decided she wanted me to go get an ultrasound done. The ultrasound would show how big Kendall was, and how much amniotic fluid there was. If either were lower than they should be, she would put me in the hospital that night to be induced.
So Ryan and I went to the ultrasound appointment, and both proved to be true. They guessed that Kendall weighed about 5 lbs. 3 oz. and my amniotic fluid was low. So we were given instructions to go immediately to the hospital; we had to leave my car at my work, and we couldn't go home to get our bag.
We headed to the hospital where they immediately got me ready to start the induction process. Unfortunately Thursday morning, I had not made any progress with the medicine and so I spent all day Thursday continuing to take medicine and still making no progress.
Finally on Friday, my doctor broke my water, started pitocin, and things got moving quickly. Kendall was born on Friday, July 8th at 7:32 pm. We are SO in love! Ryan couldn't look at her for more than a few seconds without crying. His little girl already has him wrapped around her finger!

So happy to see this, and to have met that sweet little girl in person. She is just perfect! I can't wait to see you guys again. And I found one more baby thing I forgot to add to the box. A wearable blanket that is now too short for Miss Sophie.
